Terminals, Storage, Blending & Pipeline Infrastructure

At Basin Ridge, we engineer and construct high-performance midstream infrastructure designed to operate under demanding conditions while meeting stringent regulatory and safety standards. Our capabilities span onshore terminals, storage tank systems, blending facilities, and pipeline networks—each delivered with a focus on mechanical integrity, process efficiency, and long-term reliability.

What We Do

Onshore Terminals

We design and build fully integrated terminal systems for crude oil, refined products, and natural gas liquids (NGLs), including:

  • Truck, rail, and marine loading/unloading racks with automated custody transfer metering (API MPMS compliant)

  • High-capacity pumping systems (centrifugal and positive displacement) with variable frequency drives (VFDs)

  • Metering skids (Coriolis, ultrasonic, and turbine meters) with flow computers and SCADA integration

  • Vapor recovery units (VRUs) to capture volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

  • Fire protection systems (NFPA-compliant foam deluge, hydrants, and detection systems)

Typical terminal throughput capacity ranges from 20,000 to 500,000 barrels per day (BPD) depending on configuration and market requirements.

Storage Tank Farms

We engineer and construct storage systems in accordance with API 650, API 620, and API 653 standards:

  • Atmospheric storage tanks (fixed roof, internal/external floating roof) for crude and refined products

  • Pressurized vessels (bullet tanks and spheres) for LPG and NGL storage

  • Tank capacities ranging from 10,000 to 1,000,000+ barrels per tank

  • Bottom and shell materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, or alloy) with corrosion allowances and coatings

  • Cathodic protection systems and impressed current systems for corrosion mitigation

  • Secondary containment systems (earthen berms or concrete dikes) sized per EPA SPCC requirements

We incorporate automated tank gauging (ATG), temperature profiling, and overfill protection systems (API 2350 compliant).

Blending Facilities

Our blending systems are designed for precision, flexibility, and real-time quality control:

  • Inline and batch blending systems with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

  • Multi-stream blending manifolds capable of handling 3–10+ product streams simultaneously

  • Ratio control using mass flow (Coriolis) or volumetric measurement systems

  • Additive injection systems (dyes, detergents, ethanol, drag-reducing agents)

  • Online analyzers (density, viscosity, sulfur content) for continuous product verification

Blending accuracy is typically maintained within ±0.1% to ±0.25% of target specification, depending on product requirements.

Pipeline Infrastructure

We design and construct pipeline systems in compliance with ASME B31.4 (liquids) and ASME B31.8 (gas) standards:

  • Pipeline diameters ranging from 4 inches to 48 inches

  • Operating pressures up to 1,440 psi (or higher depending on class location and design factor)

  • Material grades (API 5L X42 to X80) selected based on pressure, terrain, and flow conditions

  • Coating systems (fusion-bonded epoxy, 3LPE/3LPP) and cathodic protection for long-term integrity

  • Compressor and pump stations strategically placed to maintain flow efficiency

Construction scope includes:

  • Route clearing and grading

  • Trenching and horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for crossings

  • Automated and manual welding (SMAW, GMAW) with 100% non-destructive examination (NDE)

  • Hydrostatic testing at 125% of maximum allowable operating pressure (MAOP)

We integrate SCADA systems, fiber optic monitoring, and leak detection systems (computational pipeline monitoring – CPM) for real-time operational control.

Front-End Engineering Design (FEED)

We perform detailed feasibility studies, hydraulic modeling, and simulation using industry-standard software (e.g., HYSYS, PIPE-FLO). Deliverables include process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and class III cost estimates.

Detailed Engineering & Design

  • Mechanical, civil, structural, and electrical/instrumentation design

  • Stress analysis and surge analysis for pipelines

  • Foundation design based on geotechnical surveys

  • Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and quantitative risk assessments (QRA)

Procurement
